To persuate to pas my class Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

To persuate to pas my class - Essay Example I suppose that it is through the challenges of passing or excelling in class that we students grow to become refined individuals able to express ourselves with strong will and intellect, knowing that we have surpassed certain weaknesses while in the process of fulfilling academic requirements. In classroom, teachers are normally strict and formal by nature and I must admit being particularly challenged by instructors who provide the class some real tough moments of rigorously developing skills whether in analyzing a literary piece or in working out a problem that requires mechanical solution. Nevertheless, I know at the back of my head that listening to my teacher attentively and following instructions carefully would all pay off in the end since besides passing the course, I acquire the advantage of learning a huge number of things which can be of ample essence to my comprehension of major subjects in the future. More than the ability to survive the course, I feel motivated to proceed with diligent studies in class regardless of how complicated the subject matter could get, believing that somewhere in this current painstaking situation, I would be able to discover potentials yet unknown. By heart, I understand that real teachers set high expectations and seemingly imposs ible levels of standard from student performance so if I continue to persevere and strive harder even with average capacity, I can make it. Moreover, I realize that classroom experience is not merely about pressures in studying academic lessons because it also helps to interact with classmates who come from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. Through their specific attitude, character, and the manner by which they handle scholastic tasks, they manage to share inspiring ideas and model image I can often look up to at times it occurs I readily get burned out. With these people, the approach toward passing a hard subject would not be as complex as I usually think it

Rappaccinis Daughter - Ambiguous Essay -- Rappaccinis Daughter Essay

Rappaccini’s Daughter  Ã‚  Ã‚  -   Ambiguous  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Hawthorne’s Rappaccini’s Daughter is a Gothic romance and a thwarted, almost-allegory with a plethora of ambiguous meanings. As Hawthorne identifies in the previous quote, this story is a blatant parallel towards the story of Original Sin. The issue, then, lies in the representation. Who is playing Adam and Eve? Who is Satan and who is God? At first glance it is easy to assume that the two love birds, Giovanni and Beatrice, are Adam and Eve; while Beatrice’s black cloaked father is Satan, and God is either an omniscient overseer, represented in nature, or absent from the story all together. However, Hawthorne begins the endless possibilities of role assignments by suggesting that Beatrice’s father, the diabolic scientist, Rapaccinni, could be Adam. "It was strangely frightful to the young man’s imagination, to see this air of insecurity in a person cultivating a garden, that most simple and innocent of human toils, and which had been alike the joy and labor of the unfallen parents of the race. Was this garden, then, the Eden of the present world?---and this man, with such a perception of harm in what his own hands caused to grow, was he the Adam?" (1232) Hawthorne’s "Rappaccini’s Daughter" is a Gothic romance and a thwarted, almost-allegory with a plethora of ambiguous meanings. "Rappaccini’s Daughter" contrasts nature to science. Rappaccini and Baglioni are scientists, Giovanni is studying it and Beatrice is a victim of it. Nature, in it’s romantic form, does not exist in this tale. Rappaccini’s garden is about as natural as walking into the plastic flower department of a craft store and commenting on the bold colors and illustrious blooms. It might look magnificent from the window of Giovanni’s abode, but it was crafted by man, not nature. Rappaccini takes "nature" a step further by making something as natural and pure as life, twisted and synthetic. Nature has become perverse and contorted by science. Nebobites Ethical Dilemma - 1406 Words

Ethics Writing Assignment Nebobites Ethical Dilemma 1. This case involves a small public traded company named Nebobites, which manufactures dog treats. Jenny O., CPA, is the new Assistant Controller for the Nebobites’ company, and her job is to review and audit the financial statements for the 2012 year. While reviewing the financial statements, Jenny noticed the company’s Allowance for Doubtful Accounts balance seemed significantly higher than in the past. This increase in the Allowance account was due to the Bad Debt Expense estimation being based off 3% of net credit sales instead of the prior years’ estimate of 1.5%. The increase in Bad Debts expense as a result of the increase in estimate materially affected the 2012 earnings.†¦show more content†¦Although she will eventually have to find a new job, this choice may save her from being in trouble with the law and potentially boost her chances of finding a new job due to her discovery at Nebobites. Another final option that I would see plausible in thi s situation would be to simply quit, if the Controller did not want to change the estimation and swear on the financial statements. The legal risk is too high in the case, and you do not want the downfall of Nebobites to be on your shoulders. 5. By deciding to go along with the inappropriate change in estimate, Jenny’s job may be safe for the time being, but in the long run, Jenny and the company may be audited in the future exploiting their mistakes made in the 2012 financial statements. This could cause Jenny to be immediately terminated when the mistakes were finally found, as well as the possibility of jail time after an investigation and trial. This is morally and legally wrong because she knowingly goes against corporate policies and the generally accepted accounting principles in order to reap the benefits. By reporting the inappropriate practices to an outsider’s attention, such as an external auditing firm, she could save her job possibly for the time the company is being investigated, but may later be fired. Although she will eventually have to find a new job, this choice may save her from being in trouble with the law and potentially boost her chances of finding a new job due to her
